Minuteman Press Bristol has expanded it’s bicycle fleet to include a brand new, top of the range electric bike.
Already committed to being a sustainable and ethical business, the electric bike means the print and design company can make even more Bristol deliveries themselves… and in a faster time. The electric power also means it’s easier for the Minuteman team to soar up Bristol’s many hills.
Minuteman’s Senior Graphic Designer Ryan Smith says: ‘The bike is amazing to ride and you can tell it’s built really well. You do get some funny looks when you whizz up hills though and people think – how’s he doing that?!’.
Minuteman Director Lucie Wise adds: ‘It’s extraordinary… like motorised rollerskates, the electric bike is something that shouldn’t be motorised – but it is, and it works. Riding it is like somebody giving you a supportive push along’.
The folding Volt Metro electric bike can carry up to 25 kilos and reaches a speed of 15.5mph. It was bought from the Electric Bike Store in London. The store’s Piers Metcalfe says: ‘This is Volt’s biggest selling bike. It uses all the latest technology for electric bikes, including the latest lithium polymer batteries and our unique v-wave technology that makes the bike exceptionally smooth and efficient to ride. Overall, it’s a great bike for use in the city’.
