The Internet offers a wide selection of forums related to graphic design, but in our humble view, none surpass Graphic Design Forums; the forums are UK focussed and consist of eight subject groups, subdivided into 24 categories.
Published research in academic journals has identified that the size of a forum’s membership is related to the reported friendliness and helpfulness of a forum. Graphic Design Forums are a friendly community (from the extensive experience of the author). Newer members record their surprise in regard to the quality of welcome received and the immediate assistance postings attract.
Members are typically graphic design students and professionals who compare notes and share knowledge on live projects and studies. At the time of writing the forum has 4878 members of which a fraction contributes (as confirmed in published research for other forums). This is by no means a criticism, the result is fewer postings (relative to other forums) but of a higher quality and relevance.
The Graphic Design Forums are a great source of current information; peer to peer review of graphic design projects, business advice and much more.
We, Minuteman Press Bristol, have been members of the forum since 2009 and moderators since 2011. We unreservedly recommend a visit.
